Description
New lineart for 's Emi character. I love this pose better, and also the eyes are more striking. ^_^
If Tofu wants to check out women in real-life ball gowns spinning their huge skirts like this one she should search on youtube for a dance troupe called "Danse Libre". Lots of lovely victorian-era dresses there. I'm sure she gets the idea of how skirts work but they look best in motion on those videos. ^^
*Original Text* She's such a doll with her pig tails, no wonder tofu-chan wanted me to make a dress for her.
Of course she didn't want Emi being formal, so her posture involves the skirt of her gown in a beautiful swaying motion. It is hard for me sometimes to portray a dress spinning, I know. >.> I often have to reference movies for twirling skirt physics but it's so different. For instance, Anna from the King and, I in the Shall we Dance number, just flips one side of the skirt and the crinoline underside shows for a second or two. In The Mask of Zorro paso-doble dance, Elena briefly twirls in this big flat ruffly circle arond her waist. And then you have these 1860's reenacting ladies with very unique skirt motions for each. This is kind of a mix of all those, and of course I hope to color in the future as (edit: though this is still a lineart) I much love flying dresses in color more than sketch or black & white.
Emi (c) Dress by me. Thanks for the trade! ^^
